COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The fifth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team will make the short trip to Baltimore Sunday for a 7 p.m. matchup at Loyola in Reitz Arena.

The Terrapins (1-0) won their third straight season opener Friday night with an 88-47 victory over Mount St. Mary's at Comcast Center. Four Terps finished in double figures as Tianna Hawkins had 18 points and 10 rebounds and Alicia DeVaughn contributed 15 points and 11 boards.
Alyssa Thomas scored 14 for the Terrapins, who led by 25 at halftime and coasted to the finish. Freshman Malina Howard added 12 points and seven boards.
In Friday night's win, Hawkins became the 28th player in Maryland history to break the 1000-point mark and Thomas pulled down her 500th board.
Maryland has four starters back from the team that last season won the Atlantic Coast Conference and reached the Elite Eight. Thomas, Hawkins and junior Laurin Mincy were voted to the Preseason All-ACC Team.
After Sunday's matchup, the Terps will stay on the road for a 2 p.m. game at St. Joseph's in Philadelphia next Saturday.
