The Maryland baseball team kicked off its annual Iron Terp Challenge Friday morning at the on campus football practice facility with a regional run with Anthony Papio taking top honors in the event.
The Iron Terp Challenge is a five-day competition designed to test strength, mental toughness and competitiveness. The competition began Friday morning and will conclude Wednesday evening at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium.
Head strength and conditioning coach Seth Diters selected the captains for this year's squads based on performance during weight lifting sessions and conditioning sessions. Jack Cleary will lead the Black Team and Jake Stinnett will be in charge of the Red Team.
