Yep Continues To Shine For Terps At NCAA Regional

    UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Junior Becky Yep finished 37th individually to lead the University of Maryland women's cross country team to a 13th place finish at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Friday afternoon hosted by Penn State.

    The Ellicott City, Md., native crossed the line in 21:46 to lead the Terps to the line for the third consecutive race.

    Sophomore Maryam Fikri came in next for the Terrapins, placing 76th with a season-best time of 22:33. She was followed by junior Bridget Nolan, who came in 90th overall with a time of 22:51.

    Senior Anna Roth wrapped up her Maryland cross country career with a fourth-place team finish in 23:02. Sophomore Myah Hicks was right behind Roth, finishing with a time of 23:05.

    Freshmen Catherine Sheffo (23:13) and Jackie Lazzaro (23:54) also competed for the Terps.

    Maryland scored 419 points. No. 15 Penn State won the event with 61 points, while No. 9 Georgetown came in second with 63 points. No. 25 Villanova came in third with 96 points.
