
#10 Maryland Takes On #2 UConn Monday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The ninth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team will take on No. 2 Connecticut Monday in Hartford, Conn. as part of the Jimmy V Classic. The Terps (4-1) and the Huskies (6-0) will tip at 7 p.m. in the XL Center.
The Terps-Huskies game will be shown live on ESPN2 and can be heard on the Terrapin Sports Radio Network on 1300 AM (Baltimore), 570 AM (DC) and online on UMTerps.com.
This will mark for the first meeting between Maryland and Connecticut, with the series returning to College Park in 2013.
Maryland is coming off of a 90-71 win at No. 19 Nebraska Wednesday night as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Alyssa Thomas led the Terrapins with 25 points, a career-high eight assists, six steals and five rebounds. Tianna Hawkins added her third double-double of the season with 21 points and 12 boards.
The Terrapins lead the country in rebounding margin by an astounding +22.6. They are top 10 in the country in assists per game (3), scoring margin (5) and assist/turnover ratio (10). Hawkins is second in the country with her field goal percentage of .695. She led the nation last year. Alicia DeVaughn is fourth in the same statistic with her percentage of .676.
