
Sheptock Named ACC Wrestler of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - University of Maryland junior wrestler Jimmy Sheptock was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced Tuesday.
Sheptock, who is currently ranked sixth nationally at 184 pounds, won two matches in the Grapple at the Garden on Sunday including a 6-4 sudden victory over then-sixth ranked Josh Ihnen of Nebraska to key a Maryland comeback against the 17th-ranked Huskers. The 18th-ranked Terps won the final three matches of the dual to win 18-17.
In his opening match of the day against fourth-ranked Ohio State's Kenny Courts, Sheptock dispatched of Courts by a 9-3 margin.
The Northampton, Pa., native is a team-best 17-1 and 9-0 in duals. In addition, Sheptock improved his career mark to 22-0 in dual competition.
It is the third straight week a Terrapin wrestler has earned ACC Wrestler of the Week honors and fourth time this season. Sheptock shared the award for the week of Dec. 4, while Geoffrey Alexander won the award for the week of Nov. 6 and Dec. 11.
