Four Named to All-ACC Teams | Moseley on All-Freshman Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland women's basketball sophomore Alicia DeVaughn was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference's All-Defensive Team the league announced Tuesday. The All-Defensive Team is a list of the conference's top five defensive players as voted by the league's 12 head coaches.

DeVaughn, a center from West Palm Beach, Fla., is just the second Terrapin ever to earn All-Defensive honors, after Renneika Razor did in 2002 and 2003.

DeVaughn is among the league's best in rebounding with 6.0 per contest this season. and averages 2.5 offensive boards per game. She leads the Terrapins with 37 blocks so far this season. Her 73 career blocks put her in the top 15 of all Maryland players as just a sophomore.

Four members of the fifth-ranked Terrapins squad were named to the All-ACC Teams announced Monday. Alyssa Thomas earned First Team honors, while Tianna Hawkins made the Second Team. Lynetta Kizer and Laurin Mincy each earned Honorable Mention honors and Kizer was named the ACC's Sixth Player of the Year. Brene Moseley was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team Tuesday.

The Terrapins (25-4, 11-4 ACC) will open play in the 35th Annual ACC Women's Basketball Tournament Friday evening at approximately 8 p.m. as the No. 3 seed. They will play either sixth-seeded Virginia or 11th-seeded Boston College, depending on Thursday's result.

All eight games on Thursday and Friday will be broadcast on the league's regional sports network (RSN), which includes Comcast SportsNet, Fox Sports South, Fox Sports Florida and the New England Sports Network. Friday's contest can be seen locally on Comcast SportsNet +. The entire tournament can also be seen on ESPN3.com and on the Terrapins' Facebook page at www.facebook.com/MarylandWomensBasketballFans.

Maryland will hold an open practice Wednesday from 5:40 to 6:25 p.m. at the Greensboro Coliseum.
