Senior Kyle John was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic team, the conference announced Thursday. John is a three-time member of the All-ACC Academic team.
The native of Coopersburg, Pa., was named to the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division I Individual All-Academic team for a second consecutive year on Tuesday. John is currently pursuing a graduate degree in engineering project management.
On the mat, John captured his first career ACC title in March at 157 pounds with a pin of North Carolina's Corey Mock to qualify for the NCAA Championships. John finished the season with a 23-11 record and tied for the team lead in falls (8).
To be eligible for the ACC All-Academic Team consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his academic career.
Virginia's Matt Snyder earned ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors. The full list of All-ACC Academic team members is available here.
