
Terps in the NFL - August 27

College Park, Md.- Maryland had a number of former players in action during the third week of NFL preseason games, with several making significant contributions. The Terps now have 26 alumni on NFL rosters.
Below are short summaries for those that saw action in week one, followed by a complete list of current Terps in the NFL.
Lance Ball -RB- Denver Broncos
Fifth-year running back Lance Ball led Denver in receiving with two catches for 42 yards in addition to one carry for three yards in a 29-24 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Kevin Barnes -DB- Detroit Lions
Fifth-year cornerback Kevin Barnes recorded two tackles including one solo tackle in a 30-17 win against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday. Barnes was traded on Monday from the Washington Redskins to the Detroit Lions.
Nolan Carroll -DB- Miami Dolphins
Third-year cornerback Nolan Carroll had two solo tackles to go along with a pass deflection for the Miami Dolphins in a 23-6 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
Vernon Davis -TE- San Francisco 49ers
Seventh-year tight end Vernon Davis only caught one pass Sunday against the Broncos however, it was a 44 yard touchdown at the end of the first quarter of a 29-24 win against the Denver Broncos.
Moise Fokou -LB- Indianapolis Colts
Fourth-year linebacker Moise Fokou finished with 2 tackles in the Indianapolis Colts 30-17 loss to the Washington Redskins in the third week of the preseason.
Erin Henderson -LB- Minnesota Vikings
Erin Henderson recorded five tackles including three solo tackles and a tackle for loss in the Minnesota Vikings 12-10 loss to the San Diego Chargers.
Darrius Heyward-Bey -WR- Oakland Raiders
Darrius Heyward-Bey caught two passes for 55 yard including one for 41 yards in the Oakland Raiders 31-20 win over the Detroit Lions. Heyward-Bey also had one carry for five yards in the win.
Shaun Hill -QB- Detroit Lions
The 11-year veteran Shaun Hill went 7 for 15 for 67 yards and a touchdown in the Detroit Lions 31-20 loss to the Oakland Raiders. Hill's touchdown was a seven yard pass to tight end Brandon Pettigrew.
Nick Novak -K- San Diego Chargers
Nick Novak kicked a 45 yard game winning field goal in the San Diego Chargers 12-10 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. In addition to the game winner he also connected from 34 yards in the second quarter.
Da'Rel Scott -RB- New York Giants
Da'Rel Scott had a huge game for the New York Giants in their 20-17 loss to the Chicago Bears. In addition to five carries for 16 yards, Scott had one catch for 12 yards, a kick return for 28 yards and blocked a Bears punt.
Torrey Smith -WR- Baltimore Ravens
Torrey Smith led all receivers with eight receptions for 103 yards in the Baltimore Ravens 48-17 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Randy Starks -DL- Miami Dolphins
Nine-year veteran Randy Starks had one solo tackle in the Miami Dolphins 23-6 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
Isaiah Williams -WR- Arizona Cardinals
Isaiah Williams had two catches for 21 yards in the Arizona Cardinals 32-27 loss to the Tennessee Titans.
LaQuan Williams -WR- Baltimore Ravens
LaQuan Williams had a big game in the Baltimore Ravens 48-17 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars as he fights to be the team's third wide receiver. Williams had two catches for 43 yards including a 8 yard touchdown.
Madieu Williams -DB- Washington Redskins
Ninth-year linebacker Madieu Williams finished with five tackles including three solo tackles in a 30-17 win against the Indianapolis Colts. Williams is fighting to be the team's starting free safety.
Josh Wilson (DB, Washington Redskins
Josh Wilson had a huge game in the Redskins 30-17 win over the Indianapolis Colts. He recorded 5 tackles including 4 solo tackles.
