COLLEGE PARK, MD. - The University of Maryland men's lacrosse program is preparing for a big weekend of activities, featuring the annual Alumni Game on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium.

The festivities kickoff with the annual Alumni Golf tournament on Friday, Sept. 28 at Cross Creek Golf Club in Beltsville, Md. The event is set for a shotgun start at 12:45 p.m. Among the alums already registered to attend are Terrapin legends Frank Urso, Mike Farrell, Jack Kaestner, Ed Mullen and Brian Burlace.

The weekend continues on Saturday, Sept. 29 with the second annual Forever Young Walk/Run to help raise awareness for pancreatic cancer. The Forever Young Walk/Run is held in memory of Maria Young, mother of former Terrapin All-American Ryan Young, who battled pancreatic cancer for more than three years before succumbing to the disease on April 17, 2011. The walk/run begins at 9:30 a.m. at the West Gate of Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium. Forever Young t-shirts will be sold for $25 with all proceeds going to support pancreatic cancer awareness. Donations will also be accepted. Checks can be made out to FYPC.

The Alumni Game will be played under the lights on Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 29 with faceoff scheduled for 7 p.m. The game, which is the first live action for the 2013 Terps, will feature many of the recent graduates, including MLL 2012 Defensive Player of the Year Lee Zink, 2012 MLL All-Star Brian Farrell, three-time All-American Joe Cummings (Ohio Machine), three-time All-American Ryan Young (Long Island Lizards), three-time All-American Ray Megill (Ohio Machine), two-time All-American Brett Schmidt (Charlotte Hounds) and Drew Snider (Denver Outlaws). The Alumni Game is open to the public and admission is free. Fans can enter Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium through Gate I on the south end of the stadium.

The weekend wraps up with the 2012 Awards Banquet on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 11:30 a.m. at Comcast Center. The banquet honors the 2012 team, which finished the season with a 12-6 record and advanced to the program's second-consecutive NCAA championship game.
