
Terrapins Release Non-Conference Lineup

Head coach Brenda Frese and the Terps will take on Nebraska, Connecticut and Delaware in November and December. They will also take on several area opponents early in the 2012-13 campaign.
Maryland, who was ranked No. 5 in the final Associated Press poll last year, will host Mount St. Mary's on Friday, Nov. 9 in its season opener. Then the Terps will hit the road for games at Loyola on Sunday, Nov. 11 and at St. Joseph's on Saturday, Nov. 17. They welcome American to Comcast Center on Wednesday, Nov. 21.
After the Thanksgiving holiday, the Terrapins will hit the road for the annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge and will take on Nebraska on Wednesday, Nov. 28 in Lincoln. The Huskers ended the 2011-12 season ranked No. 17 in the AP poll and lost in the NCAA Second Round.
On Monday, Dec. 3, the Terps will head north to take part in the Jimmy V Classic when they take on Connecticut. It will mark the first meeting between the two powerhouses. Game time will be announced at a later date.
Maryland will return home for a matchup with George Mason on Saturday, Dec. 8.
Then, the Terrapins will head back out on the road. They will play at Towson on Tuesday, Dec. 11. After final exams, the Terps will play at Delaware on Thursday, Dec. 20.The Blue Hens advanced to the NCAA Second Round and ended last season ranked No. 7 in the AP poll.
To close the month of December, Maryland will welcome Brown, Hartford and Maryland-Eastern Shore to College Park for the annual Terrapin Classic Dec. 28-29. The Terps will take on Brown on Friday, Dec. 28, then the two winners of Friday's games will play Saturday, with a consolation game to be played as well. Maryland will play on Saturday.
The Terrapins will open then season unofficially with an exhibition against Catholic on Tuesday, Oct. 30, then a second exhibition against Goldey-Beacom on Monday, Nov. 5.

The Terps return three All-ACC players and four starters. They also welcome the nation's sixth-ranked recruiting class with the additions of Malina Howard, Chloe Pavlech and Tierney Pfirman.
Maryland ended the 2011-12 season with a 31-5 overall record, winning 10 of its last 11 games. The Terrapins won the program's 10th ACC title in March and notched the fourth 30-win season in school history. They advanced to their ninth Elite Eight and fourth in head coach Brenda Frese's 10 years.
