
#14 Terps Set for Home Opener

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The No. 14 Maryland gymnastics team competes in its first home meet of the 2013 season Saturday against East Atlantic Gymnastics League-rival North Carolina at 7 p.m. at Comcast Center.
The Terps (3-0-1, 1-0-1 EAGL) came out on top in a quad meet at No. 22 Pittsburgh on Saturday. With a 195.975, Maryland beat the host Panthers, Cornell and Temple. The Terps' 195.975 is the 10th highest total in program history.
Freshman Kathy Tang earned EAGL Co-Gymnast of the Week honors for her all-around performance at Pitt. Tang won her first-ever gold in the all-around with a career-high 39.375, which is one-tenth shy of the fourth-best all-around score in school history.
Senior Ally Krikorian won EAGL Specialist of the Week honors after totaling season highs and tying for first on vault and floor with 9.900 in each event.
Junior Katy Dodds and sophomore Stephanie Giameo are the top-ranked gymnasts nationally on vault and beam, respectively. Giameo tied a program record Saturday with a 9.950 on beam.
The Terps currently rank seventh nationally on vault, eighth on beam and are tied for 16th on floor.

Scouting the Tar Heels
North Carolina won its last meet at home against George Washington and William & Mary with a score of 194.500. Senior Elizabeth Durkac won the all-around, and won gold on vault and uneven bars. Durkac finished second on beam and floor.
The Tar Heels (2-1, 1-1 EAGL) rank 22nd nationally on uneven bars. Durkac is tied for 20th nationally on the apparatus.Follow Maryland Gymnastics on Twitter
