#9 Maryland Takes on #24 FSU Thursday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The ninth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (22-5, 13-3 ACC) will take on No. 24 Florida State (20-7, 10-6) Thursday at 7 p.m. in Tallahassee, Fla.
The Terps-Seminoles game will be shown live online on ESPN3 and the Watch ESPN app. It will be broadcast on the Terrapin Sports Radio Network and can be heard on 1300 AM and UMTerps.com.
Maryland won the first meeting between the two squads, 71-64, on Jan. 6 in College Park. Alyssa Thomas led the way with 20 points and 15 rebounds. Tianna Hawkins added 17 points and Tierney Pfirman scored 12.
The Terps have won three of their last four games heading into Thursday's matchup.
Florida State has lost two in a row, falling 61-50 at No. 5 Duke Friday and at Virginia Tech, 71-52.
Hawkins needs 131 rebounds to surpass Marissa Coleman on the Terps' all-time list. Hawkins currently has 1,009 rebounds in her career. Alicia DeVaughn needs one block to break 100 in her career. The Terrapins have notched 31 double-doubles this year, which exceeds their total of 27 from all of last year. Thomas dished 113 assists last year and has 140 already this season. She broke 300 assists Sunday. Thomas needs three boards to surpass her season total last year of 279.
The Terrapins are No. 2 in the country in rebounding with their margin of +15.0, which is second only to Liberty's +16.0. Hawkins and Thomas are Nos. 1 and 2 in the ACC in scoring and rebounding. Hawkins leads the league in scoring with 18.6 points per game and Thomas is just behind her with 17.7. Thomas is the league's top rebounder with 10.3 boards per contest and Hawkins is No. 2 with 9.4 per game. Thomas is also second in assists per game with 5.2. In conference games only, Thomas leads all players in scoring, rebounds and assists. DeVaughn and Hawkins are Nos. 1 and 2 in FG percentage. As a team, the Terrapins are third in the country in field goal percentage (.482) and fourth in assists (18.3).
After Thursday's contest, Maryland will welcome Wake Forest (12-16, 5-11) to Comcast Center for the 2 p.m. regular season finale. The Terps will be honoring seniors Tianna Hawkins and Caitlin Adams prior to Sunday's game.
