Game Notes

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The seventh-ranked Maryland women's basketball team will play at No. 5 Duke Monday at 7 p.m. in Cameron Indoor Stadium in a nationally-televised game on ESPN2.

The Terps-Blue Devils matchup can also be seen on ESPN3.com and the Watch ESPN mobile app. It will also be broadcast on the Terrapin Sports Radio Network and can be heard on 1300 AM and UMTerps.com.

The Terrapins (19-3, 10-1 ACC) will be looking to extend their nine-game win streak and take a piece of first place in the ACC. Tianna Hawkins and Alyssa Thomas each scored 23 points to beat Wake Forest 73-63 on Friday night in Winston-Salem. Freshman Malina Howard added 12 points.

The Blue Devils (21-2, 11-0) have won five in a row since a 79-49 loss at No. 2 Connecticut on Jan. 21.

The Terrapins won the most recent meeting between the two teams. They won 63-61 on Feb. 19 in College Park behind 19 points from Hawkins, 17 from Laurin Mincy and 12 rebounds from Thomas, who also had the game-winning block at the buzzer.

In their last meeting at Cameron Indoor Stadium, Duke edged Maryland 80-72 on Jan. 22.

With her 973 career rebounds, Hawkins is now No. 3 on Maryand's all-time list. She recently surpassed Terrapin great Vicky Bullett. She is behind Marissa Coleman and Crystal Langhorne, who are the only players in program history to reach the 1,000-rebound mark. The Terrapins have notched 26 double-doubles this year, which matches their total from all of last year. Thomas dished 113 assists last year and has 120 already this season.

The Terps are No. 2 in the nation with their rebounding margin of +16.4, only to Liberty's +17.6. Hawkins and Thomas are Nos. 1 and 2 in the ACC in scoring and rebounding. Hawkins leads in scoring with 19.6 points per game and Thomas is just behind her with 17.1 points per game. Thomas leads in rebounding with 10.3 per contest and Hawkins is second with 9.9. Thomas is No. 2 in assists with 5.5 per game. According to STATS, Inc., no player in the NCAA or WNBA has averaged 15.0 points, 10.0 rebounds or 5.0 assists since 1999-00, which was the farthest that could be searched. Hawkins and Alicia DeVaughn are also Nos. 1 and 2 in the league in field goal percentage.

After Monday's matchup, the Terrapins will return home to host Clemson (6-16, 2-9) Thursday at 7 p.m. in their annual Play4Kay Pink Game to support breast cancer awareness.
