Nine Terps Named to EAGL All-Academic

DURHAM, N.H. - Nine members of the Maryland gymnastics team were named to the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) All-Academic Team the league announced Monday.

The Terps' academic honorees are led by senior Kesley Cofsky, who is a four-time recipient, and juniors Jessie Black, Katy Dodds, Elizabethe Manzi and Karen Tang, who are all three-time honorees.

Sophomores Elizabeth Garcia, Stephanie Giameo, Dani Kram and Shannon Skochko earned spots on the team for the second consecutive year.

In total, 89 student-athletes were named to the EAGL All-Academic Team.

In order to be named to the EAGL all-Academic team, student-athletes must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher. Freshmen are eligible if they earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher in the fall semester.

Awards will be presented to the honorees at the 2013 EAGL Championship Banquet this Friday, March 22, in Chapel Hill, N.C.

North Carolina will host the EAGL Championships on Saturday, March 23 at 2 p.m.
