
Terps Close Homestand with George Mason

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland wraps up its nine-game homestand Tuesday when the Terps play host to George Mason at Bob "Turtle" Smith Stadium at 4 p.m.
The Terps (14-9, 3-6 ACC) have won 11 straight non-conference games entering Tuesday's matchup with the Patriots (11-12, 4-5 CAA) and are looking to bounce back after dropping 2 of 3 to Wake Forest over the weekend.
Maryland is averaging 7.7 runs per game against non-conference foes with a team ERA of 3.27. The Terrapins have scored nine or more runs in seven of the 14 games.
In those contests, Maryland is hitting .307 with a .427 OBP. Charlie White has been leading the way with a .426 batting average and 15 stolen bases.
Making the start for the Terps will be Alex Robinson. The freshman left hander is scheduled to make his second consecutive midweek start. Last week against James Madison, Robinson went four innings and gave up one run on four hits while striking out four.
On the year, Robinson ranks third on the team with 24 strikeouts. The Hewlett, N.Y., native is averaging 10.1 strikeouts per game.
Kyle Convissar has reached base in 20 consecutive games entering Tuesday's matchup. Overall, Convissar leads the team in batting average (.357) and RBI (24).
George Mason has yet to announce its starting pitcher for tomorrow.
Scouting the Patriots
George Mason lost 2 of 3 over the weekend to James Madison snapping a four-game winning streak in the process. The Patriots are 7-7 in non-conference action after defeating Radford, 5-4, last week.
In 23 games, Mason is hitting .289 with a .381 OBP and is averaging 5.7 runs per game. Defensively, the Patriots have committed 45 errors and have a .948 fielding percentage.
On the mound, the Patriots have a 5.05 ERA with opponents' batting .292 against the squad.
Tucker Tobin is statistically the top hitter on the squad. Tobin leads the team in batting average (.396), slugging (.708), runs scored (21), home runs (6) and RBI (23).
