FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Maryland sophomore Amber Melville finished 11th in the high jump at the 2013 NCAA Indoor Women's Track & Field Championships, held at Randal Tyson Track at the University of Arkansas Friday.
Melville fell just shy of her personal best, clearing 5-11 ¼ to finish 11th out of a field of 16. It was Melville's first trip to the NCAA championships after claiming the ACC title in February.
Fellow classmate Thea LaFond will compete in the pentathlon Saturday. LaFond was announced as the USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic Field Athlete of the Year at Thursday's NCAA championship banquet.
