ACC Championship Match Notes 
COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The No. 24 Maryland wrestling team (14-8) plays host to the 2013 ACC Championships on Saturday, March 9 at Comcast Center. The action begins at 11 a.m. with doors opening at 10 a.m.
The Terps are seeking their third consecutive ACC title and fifth in the past six seasons. Should the Terps take home the title, it will be Maryland's ACC-leading 25th conference crown.
Schedule of Events

-Maryland plays host to the 2013 ACC Championships on Saturday for the first time 2008, a tournament the Terps won.
-The Terps finished the regualr season with a 14-8 record and a 3-2 mark in the ACC. Maryland enters the postseason ranked 24th in the USA Today/NWCA/AWN Coaches Poll.
-Should the Terps win on Saturday, it will mark their third consecutive ACC title and fifth in the last six seasons.
-In 2012, the Terps placed seven wrestlers in the finals and four of them took home titles including Jimmy Sheptock (174) and Christian Boley (197). Sheptock has moved up to 184 this season.
-Two-time All-American Josh Asper will be looking for his second conference title and first at 174 after moving up from 165 this season.
-Christian Boley has won 10 straight matches heading into Saturday. Boley has not lost in 2013.
Geoffrey Alexander is 11-1 in his last 12 matches with four falls.
Looking Toward Des Moines
-Of the 60 wrestlers competing on Saturday, half of them will earn a bid to the NCAA Championships on March 21-23. The NCAA allocated the following bids per weight class: four at 125, five at 133, four at 141, two at 149, two at 157, three at 165, three at 174, four at 184, two at 197, and one at 285.
-Maryland sent seven wrestlers to the 2012 NCAA Championships, which was the most qualifiers the Terps have had since 1990.
ACC Greatness
-In terms of conference titles, Maryland is the winningest program in ACC history. The Terps have 24 ACC titles, seven more than second-place North Carolina.
-The Terps have won the last two ACC championships and four of the past five. Head coach Kerry McCoy has directed the team to three of those four championships.

One of the Best Ever
-Josh Asper ranks second in program history with 150 career victories in all competitions trailing Hudson Taylor by 15 wins.
-This season marked Asper's first at 174 after spending the past three seasons at 165.
Top of the Table
-Jimmy Sheptock led the team this season in dual points scored (81), dual major decisions (5), dual tech falls (3), dual takedowns (67), dual 2-point near falls (9) and dual 3-point near falls (8).
-While taking his opponent to the mat 67 times this season, Sheptock was only taken down once in dual competition.
