Danny Cantwell is in his first year as a full-time assistant for the tennis team. Cantwell, a Maryland alumnus, will be involved in all facets of the program.
Cantwell was a standout on the men's tennis team while at Maryland and graduated in 1992. He earned All-ACC honors at the Nos. 1 and 2 singles positions for two consecutive years and was a 1990 conference champion. Cantwell was also nominated as ACC Player of the Year in 1990. He and his doubles partner, men's tennis coach Jeremy Loomis, were ranked nationally.
Cantwell has been a self-employed teaching professional and coach since 1986. He is in his third year of law school at the University of Baltimore and will graduate in May.
