On Valois: A talented player with a lot of offensive potential … has one of the strongest arms in the outfield. 1999 season: Recorded four multiple-hit games … hit safely in the Terps' first two games against Oklahoma on Jan. 29 and Jacksonville on Jan. 30 … went 2-for-4 with an RBI double against Virginia Commonwealth on March 12 … went 3-for-3 with a home run and a double against Howard on April 6 … hit a three-run home run against Richmond April 13 … went 3-for-7 in the series against NC State April 16-18 … smacked a two-run double against UMES on April 21. 1998 season: Played and started in the first 16 games of the season before suffering a season-ending injury … hit safely in 11 of the 16 games he played … recorded four multiple-hit games … hit a solo home run in the season opener against UNC Greensboro on Feb. 14 … had a career-high five-game hitting streak from Feb. 20-28.
