Terps step up the pace in the weight room, hold intrasquad scrimmage

Terps busy during fifth week of off-season including a scrimmage, guest speakers and community service
As a Freshman (2011): Served a redshirt season.
Before Maryland: Competed for both her high school and SET club teams ... four-year varsity member for Capistrano Valley High School ... prep team was a quarterfinalist in the CIF in both 2008 and 2009 ... was a two time Academic All-American for her club team ... club team placed second at the 20 and under Championships in 2009 ... club team finished fourth at 2009 Top 40 Tournament ... also a member of the Capistrano swimming team.
Personal: Parents are Dan and Pattie Nickel ... has one brother, Taylor, who is on Harvard's swimming and diving team ... member of the National Honor Society ... valedictorian of her high school ... was president of her high school's Operation Smile ... participated in the Science Olympiad ... hobbies include sailing, traveling, skiing, and scuba diving ... majoring in government and politics.
