As a sophomore at Yale (2000): Led the Bulldogs in scoring with 46 points as he also led in goals with 31 and tied for second on the club in assists with 15 … his 31 goals equaled the school record for goals in a season by a sophomore … selected to the All-Ivy League team as well as the All-New England team … was a 2000 Academic All-American … Elis went 8-5 … scored a goal in every game except for one and tallied a point in all 13 games, all of which he started … tallied at least three points on eight occasions and at least two 10 times … began the year with two goals vs. Drexel (3/4) … notched four goals vs. No. 1 Syracuse (3/11) … had a goal and assist vs. Colgate (3/14) … assisted two goals vs. Penn (3/18) … recorded a hat trick at Cornell (3/25) … had two more goals at Princeton (4/1) … scored vs. Brown (4/5) … three goals and a helper vs. Rutgers (4/8) … three points, including two goals vs. Boston College (4/12) … posted a career-high nine points with four goals and five points vs. Albany (4/15) … those nine points set the school record for points in a game by a sophomore … four goals and an assist at Dartmouth (4/19) … sixth hat trick of the year vs. Harvard (4/22) ... closed the year with six points on two goals and four assists at Maryland (4/28) … had 13 goals and 16 points against Ivy League opponents.
As a freshman at Yale (1999): Played in all 13 games, starting 10, as the Bulldogs went 7-6 … posted 19 goals and added five assists for 24 points … also grabbed 24 groundballs ... set career high with five goals in his first college game against Drexel (3/6) ... named Ivy League Rookie of the Week as he scored two goals and added an assist against Cornell (3/27).
Before Yale: A four-year letterwinner at Unionville High School in Kennett Square, Pa., playing for coach Buddy Meredith … high school lacrosse All-American in 1998 … earned first-team all-league honors on four occasions … named to the All-Pennsylvania State first team as a senior and second team as a junior … captured the 1997 lacrosse league championship … served as team captain in 1998 as he earned team MVP honors … also named named team MVP as a sophomore in 1996 … also lettered three years in soccer.
