Dan Ryan Bio

As a Senior (2005): Team's lone senior raced in all seven meets ... placed 33rd at the Great Meadows Invitational in a time of 22:40.0 ... came in 94th in 27:25.80 at the Great American Cross Country Festival.

As a Junior (2004): Ran in three races... best 8k time of the season came at the JMU Invitational, where he ran a 27:22.18 to finish 30th... best overall finish was 24th at the ACC Pre-Meet.

As a Freshman (2002): Competed in four meets for the Terps...season-best time achieved at the Sept. 28 Paul Short Invitational...placed 13th at the Maryland State Championships on Oct. 5.

Before Maryland: Won varsity letters in cross country, track and swimming at Good Counsel High School in Wheaton, Md....junior cross country team held a 212-0 record and a national ranking in the top 25...team ranked first in the D.C. metro area and in Maryland...cross country team won the conference team championships three times...was selected all-conference in track and was MVP of his team during his senior year...named all-county for cross country his senior year...participated in the National Honor Society...was in the top 10 of his graduating class with a 4.5 GPA...won the George Washington School of Engineering and Applied Science medal.

Personal: Son of Kathleen and Patrick Ryan...has two sisters, Kerry and Julia...cousins Kelly and Katy are on the swim teams at Frostburg and Toledo, respectively...enjoys playing sports, listening to various kinds of music and watching movies...majoring in engineering.
