As a Sophomore (2002): Ran in three meets for the Terps...posted a season-best time at the Oct. 19 Maryland Invitational, where he took 32nd place.

Before Maryland: Attended Souderton Area High School in Soudertown, Pa., where he earned varsity letters in cross country and track...served as captain of cross country for two years, and one year as captain of track...named MVP in cross country in 2000 and MVP in track in 2001...holds the school record in the distance medley relay...named to first team All-League in cross country, and second team All-League in the 1600 meter, 3200 meter and 4X800 meter relay...was the first runner from his high school to qualify for state championships in 12 seasons...won 12th place at District 1 (PIAA) Championships...was senior class president and a member of the National Honor Society...was in the top five percent of his graduating class.
