As a Junior: Indoor- Competed in the mile and the 800 and 1,000 meter runs…took third in the 800 meter run and fifth in the mile at the Delaware Invitational…Outdoor- Finished eighth in the 800 meter run at the Maryland Invitational…raced to a seventh-place finish in the 1,500 meter run at the VCU Ram Invitational…finished ninth in the 1,500 meter run at the Patriot Open.
Before Maryland: Attended North Central High School in Indianapolis, Ind….ran three years of varsity cross country and three years of varsity track…was the co-captain of the track team in 1999…was All-State in track two times…named to the All-County cross country team one time…holds the Marion County 4X800 record…graduated from Butler University in three years, where she won varsity letters in indoor track, outdoor track and cross country…holds the university record in the 4X400…was the co-captain of track in 2002…was on the academic All-Conference team two years…participated in Kappa Alpha Theta, Psi Chi, and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Personal: Andrea Kathleen Stehman…born Jan. 7, 1981…daughter of Helen and Frederick Stehman…has three sisters, Christine, Eileen and Lara…enjoys reading, photography and working with youth…currently pursuing a graduate degree in school counseling.
