Maryland v American
As a Sophomore (2011-12): Went 27-6 and 12-0 in dual competition at 174 pounds...led the team with nine technical fall victories...ranked as high as No. 11 by InterMat...earned his first ACC title with a 10-2 major decision over Virginia Tech's Chris Moon in the final of the ACC Championships...named to the All-ACC team...finished second at the Brockport/Oklahoma Gold Invitational (11/12)...placed second at the Nittany Lion Open (12/4)...took seventh place at the Midlands Championships with a 10-3 decision over Mikey England of Iowa State (12/30)...opened the NCAA Championships with a 18-2 technical fall over Oklahoma's Kyle Detmer (3/15)...received the Curt Callahan Award for mental toughness at the team banquet.
As a Redshirt Freshman (2010-11): Went 6-4 at 165 and 174 pounds...pinned McDaniel's Matthew Peters in 1:10 to open the season at the Terrapin Duals.
As a Freshman (2009-10): Served a redshirt season ... dominated open competition at 165 pounds to the tune of 24-3 ... took home titles at the East Stroudsburg Open on Nov. 21 and the Wilkes Open on Dec. 27 ... won 11 of his first 12 collegiate matches ... went 5-0 in major decisions, 1-0 in technical falls and 4-0 in pin-falls.
Before Maryland: 2007 NHSCA Sophomore and 2008 Junior National Champion...three-time state placer...two-time district champion...regional champion as a senior...state runner-up as a junior.
