As a Sophomore (2003): Did not race for the Terps.
As a Freshman (2002): Competed in three meets for the Terps...posted season-best time in the 5,000 meters at the Maryland Invitational with a 20:13.
Before Maryland: Won varsity letters in cross country, track and cheerleading at Westside High School in Omaha, Neb....served as captain of cross country and track for two years...was captain of cheerleading one year...named to the All-Metro track team twice...was All-Metro in cross country one time...holds the school record in the 3,200 meter...qualified for state championships in track three times and in cross country twice...named a Metro Scholar-Athlete...was president of the Physics Club...participated in student council and the National Honor Society.
Personal: Daughter of Donna and Charles Barker...has one brother, Brad, who runs cross country and track for Georgetown...majoring in psychology...enjoys traveling and writing...chose Maryland over Villanova, Vassar, Nebraska and Babson.
