Cirovski to be Inducted into Wisconsin-Milwaukee Hall of Fame
COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland men's soccer coach, Sasho Cirovski, a four-year varsity letterwinner at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and assistant coach under Bob Gansler from 1988-90 at his alma mater, will be inducted into the school's Hall of Fame on Saturday night (October 4).
During his playing days, the team made the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 10 years. Cirovski won the first-ever Herman Kluge Award as top male senior student-athlete, and received the Scholar Athlete Award in six of eight semesters. He was an All-State player all four years, an All-Mideast selection three years, and made several all-tournament teams.
Before being named head men's soccer coach at Maryland in 1993, Cirovski was head coach at the University of Hartford. In six years as a head coach of Division I institutions, his teams have made the NCAA Tournament five times - two with Hartford and three with Maryland.
Cirovski played professionally for three years, including two years with the Milwaukee Wave and one year in Canada. A member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, he served on the staff of the U.S. Soccer Federation Midwest Region Olympic Development Program, and since 1992 has been a member of the Region I (East) ODP coaching staff.
