The Rematch: No. 2 Maryland vs. No. 11 Virginia
Terps and Cavaliers To Meet for First Time Since 1996 ACC Championship Game
LAST TIME THEY MET: Maryland and Virginia met in last year's Atlantic Coast Conference championship match in Charlottesville. The Terps handed the Cavaliers a 2-0 shutout to give Maryland its first ACC men's soccer championship since 1971, and its first win over the Cavaliers since 1990.
ABOUT THE CAVALIERS: Virginia enters Saturday's match with a 1-1-1 record...host Central Connecticut on Wednesday prior to meeting the Terps...defeated Akron, 5-1, lost to American, 3-1, and tied Florida International, 1-1...senior forward Matt Leonard leads the Cavalier attack with three goals and one assist (7 points)...freshman Chris Albright has scored six points...junior goalkeeper Brock Yetso has started in all three matches, posting a 1.5 goals allowed average.
CIROVSKI AT MARYLAND: Maryland head coach Sasho Cirovski owns a 48-32-7 record at the helm of the Terp program. Overall, Cirovski's record is 76-44-13 in seven years of coaching.

IN GOAL: Sophomore goalkeeper Andy Kirk, a member of the U.S. U-20 National Team and the World University Games squad, has played in three matches, missing the Adelphi match because of his committment to the World University Games squad. In three games, Kirk has allowed four goals (1.3 goals allowed average) and has posted one shutout.

COOKS NAMED ACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Maryland junior midfielder Judah Cooks was named ACC Player of the Week for his impressive performance at the Diadora/3 Brothers Classic. Cooks scored two goals and one assist in two wins for the Terps last weekend. He contributed one goal in the team's 3-2 victory over Santa Clara on Friday. Cooks then recorded a goal and then delivered the game-winning assist as Maryland defeated Howard, 3-2, in overtime to claim the Diadora/3 Brothers Classic title. For his efforts, Cooks was named Offensive Most Valuable Player.
BEST START IN A LONG TIME: Maryland's red-hot 4-0 start is its best start since 1986 when the Terps went 4-0 before a 1-1 tie versus Loyola.
