Cullen Announced as Hermann Trophy Finalist
ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Maryland senior defender Leo Cullen is one of 10 male collegiate finalists for the 1997 Hermann Trophy. The winners, both male and female, of the Hermann Trophy, the oldest and most coveted collegiate soccer award, will be announced and presented in conjunction with Soccer America's FanZone at a press conference on Saturday, December 13 (11 a.m.) at the Richmond Centre.
Ballots listing the ten female ten male finalists were distributed today to coaches and soccer journalists coast to coast who will vote to select this year's recipients. The finalists were chosen by a national nominating committee of forty prominent men's and women's coaches.
Cullen was one of four finalists in last year's balloting.
