COLLEGE PARK, Md. - After notching the highest finish of any Terp at the Big Ten Championships, Myah Hicks will look to make an impact on a regional level as the Maryland women's cross country team travels to the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships in State College, Pa. Friday.
The women's 6-killometer race will begin at noon. Becky Yep was the Terps' highest finisher at regionals last fall, a competition that also took place at Penn State.
Hicks was Maryland's sixth-highest finisher at that event, but has developed into the Terps' leader this season, having run strong races since she debuted at the Paul Short Invitational.
Sophomore Sydney Almeida has also had a solid season for the Terps. Charde' Barnes, Maeve McCoy, Katie Nappi, Catherine Sheffo and Emily VandeWater will also represent Maryland.
Terp fans can experience the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals for just a parking fee of $6. Admission to the race is free.
