
Terrapins to Play in Paradise Jam in 2015

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The 10th-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (7-2) is one of eight teams that will play in the 2015 Paradise Jam next Thanksgiving in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The Terrapins will play three games Thursday, Nov. 26 through Saturday, Nov. 28 in the tournament at the University of the Virgin Islands in St. Thomas. For more on the Paradise Jam, log on to paradisejam.com.
Maryland will be joined in the Paradise Jam by Old Dominion, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, South Dakota State, Tulane, Virginia, and UW- Green Bay.
The Terrapins last played in the Paradise Jam back in November 2005. They beat Gonzaga, 88-50, No. 9 Michigan State, 75-61, then fell to No. 2 Tennessee, 80-75.
Maryland will host American (3-4) on Friday at 7 p.m. at XFINITY Center. Friday is Hometown Heroes Night and local law enforcement personnel, firefighters, EMTs, and other first responders can claim a complimentary general admission ticket with a valid ID.
Fans are encouraged to bring new, unwrapped children's toys to donate to Toys for Tots benefiting underprivileged youth in the local community.

The Terps-Eagles game will be streamed live on the BTN2Go app, which is the official app of the Big Ten Network. It will be a BTN Plus production and will require an additional subscription. Balanced scoring led the Terrapins past Towson, 81-52, Sunday afternoon at XFINITY Center. The Terrapins controlled the first half with a 22-4 run, then never looked back.
Sophomore Brionna Jones led four Terrapins in double figures with her 17 points and eight rebounds. Shatori Walker-Kimbrough added 15 boards, five rebounds and three steals, while Tierney Pfirman scored 12 points off the bench. Freshman Kristen Confroy added 10 points.
Redshirt senior Laurin Mincy hit 1,000 career points in Sunday's game. She is the 29th Terrapin to reach the mark.
Maryland is ranked No. 10 in the USA Today Division I Coaches poll and No. 14 in the latest Associated Press poll.
