Jimmy Sheptock was selected to the National Wrestling Coaches Association Individual All-Academic Team, the organization announced Wednesday.
A first time honoree, Sheptock is one of the 33 NCAA All-Americans included on the team. The Northampton, Pa., native is a communications major.
The honor is another for Sheptock in a standout season in and out of the classroom. Also an All-ACC Academic team selection, Sheptock finished second at 184 pounds at the 2014 NCAA Championships, becoming the first Maryland wrestler to advance to a national final in 45 years.
The first Terp to ever achieve a No. 1 national ranking, Sheptock finished the season with a 32-1 record. He finished his career a three-time ACC Champion.
Sheptock joined seven other NCAA finalists on the squad. Harvard was honored as the top overall academic wrestling team.
