ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Catherine Sheffo ran well for the second race in a row, topping the Maryland women's cross country team's contingent at the Salty Dog Invitational in Annapolis, Md., Saturday.
Sheffo, a junior, finished 16th out of the 135 runners (23:16.64) that took to the course at the Naval Academy. The Dubois, Pa native was also the Terps' top runner at the Mount St. Mary's Duals.
Sydney Almeida's time of 23:27.26 was good enough for 22nd overall and second among Maryland competitors. Bowie's Charde' Barnes finished 46th, while sophomore Alexa Squirini finished 49th. Julia Reed also scored for Maryland and placed 57th.
Overall, the Terps finished in sixth place.
Maryland is back in action at the Lehigh Paul Short Invitational on Oct. 4.
