
Maryland Prepares for the Orange in the Dome

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland will be looking for its third win of the season when it travels to Syracuse for a 12:30 p.m. kickoff against the Orange at the Carrier Dome Saturday. It marks Maryland's first trip to the Carrier Dome since 1994.
With 37 points against the Mountaineers Saturday, the Terrapin offense maintained its scoring average, which is now at 37.7 points per contest, which ranks third in the Big Ten and 42nd nationally. The school record was set in 2001, when the Terps earned a trip to the Orange Bowl on the back of an offense that averaged 35.5 points per game. Quarterback C.J. Brown rushed for 161 yards against the Mountaineers, which was the second-highest single-game rushing total by a QB in school history and was the ninth-best rushing performance in the country last week.

Breakin' Down Brown
Quarterback C.J. Brown recorded his eighth career 100-yard rushing game Saturday with 161 yards on the ground against the Mountaineers, as well as connecting with wide receiver Stefon Diggs on a career-long 77-yard touchdown pass for Maryland's opening score. Brown's eight 100-yard rushing performances is the most all-time for a Terrapin quarterback and is tied with former Maryland running back Da'Rel Scott (2007-2010) for the fourth-highest total in program history. In addition, Brown's total is tied for fourth nationally among active FBS players..
- Brown's 161 yards rushing Saturday was one yard shy of a single-game program record for a quarterback, a mark originally set by Brown against Clemson on Oct. 15, 2011.
- With 241 yards through the air against WVU, Brown increased his career passing total to 3,637 yards. He is 363 yards shy of joining only eight other active FBS players with 4,000 career passing yards and 1,000 career rushing yards.
- Against the Mountaineers, Brown accounted for 402 yards of total offense increasing his career total to 5,018 yards. He ranks seventh on Maryland's all-time list and 19th nationally among active players.
- Brown is the only player in school history to pass for and rush for 20 or more touchdowns. Brown has 24 career passing touchdowns and 21 career rushing touchdowns.

Senior Andre Monroe anchors one end of the d-line and is Maryland's active leader in sacks. The product from Upper Marlboro, Md., has 16.5 career sacks after totaling a team-best 9.5 last season, which tied for 21st nationally.
- Monroe's 16.5 sacks ranks 12th in school history.
- With 9.5 sacks in 2013, Monroe posted the best single-season sack total in school history since Kris Jenkins posted 10.0 sacks in 2000.
- His 27.5 career tackles for loss ranks 11th in school history.
RETURN SPECIALISTS
- Maryland leads the Big Ten in both punt return average (28.9) and kick return average (27.7). Those averages also rank third and ninth, respectively, in the nation.
- On punt returns, William Likely ranks first in the Big Ten and third nationally averaging 27.5 ypr.
- For his career, Likely has returned two punts for touchdowns, most recently against WVU. He is tied for third in school history.
- Likely's 16.8 yards per return for his career is currently a program record.
