
Three Terps Selected in 2015 MLL Draft

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – University of Maryland men's lacrosse seniors Joe LoCascio, Charlie Raffa and Casey Ikeda and were selected in the 2015 Major League Lacrosse (MLL) collegiate draft Friday evening at the Baltimore Hilton's Holiday Ballroom.
LoCascio was the first Terp taken off the board, selected with the 17th overall pick by the Florida Launch. Raffa followed LoCascio in the third round after being selected with the 24th selection by the Chesapeake Bayhawks, while Ikeda later joined LoCascio when he was selected by the Launch with the 54th overall pick.
A native of Lindenhurst, N.Y., LoCascio has appeared in 44 career games (17 starts), tallying 30 goals and 10 assists. The midfielder had a breakout season as a junior, starting all 17 games and scoring 20 goals.
Raffa put together a highly impressive junior season in 2014, garnering USILA Second Team All-America honors in addition to being named All-Atlantic Coast Conference. The Syosset, N.Y., native was arguably the top faceoff man in the nation, ranking second nationally with a .678 faceoff percentage.
Ikeda, a native of Berwyn, Pa., started all 17 games for the Terps in 2014, playing a key role on a defensive unit that allowed just 7.2 goals per game. He has appeared in 34 career games (31 starts), totaling 45 ground balls.
Maryland is set to open the season on Feb. 14 in Annapolis, Md., against the Naval Academy.
