COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Terrapin Club Scholarship Fund and Maryland basketball tipped off the 2015-16 season with a “Maryland Magic” donor dinner Tuesday night at the College Park Marriott and Conference Center.

Head coaches Mark Turgeon and Brenda Frese introduced their student-athletes and staff and each concluded by expressing their appreciation to the Terrapin Club Scholarship fund for their generous donations and unwavering support.
“We are looking forward to an exciting year,” Turgeon said. “We've got one of the toughest road schedules in the conference and there are no cupcakes on the schedule.”
“It's so fun to watch both programs and I know everyone is really excited,” Frese said. “I'm thrilled to have four seniors lead our team with all the experience they bring.”
Sophomore forward Aja Ellison and junior forward Robert Carter represented each of their respective teams and shared their sincere appreciation to the loyal Maryland supporters.
"You guys are what makes being a Maryland basketball player so special and we thank you for all you do," Carter shared.
“Without you, we would not be able to attend such a wonderful University,” Ellison said. “I hope you're as excited about the season as we are.”
The Voice of the Terrapins Johnny Holliday emceed Tuesday evening's program.
The Terrapin Club Scholarship Fund is the official support organization for Maryland Athletics. The mission of the Terrapin Club Scholarship Fund is to generate private donations to fund the annual scholarship costs for Maryland's student-athletes.
