
Pro Terps Report: Cecil Set for Playoff Debut

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland baseball currently has a number of former players in Major League organizations. With minor league seasons at an end and the MLB Playoffs on the horizon, we take a look at how these former Terps fared in their seasons.
Major League Baseball
Brett Cecil, LHP, Toronto Blue Jays
Stats: 5-5, 2.48 ERA, 54.1 IP, 70 K, 13 BB, 5 SV
Highlights: Cecil did not allow an earned run over his last 30.1 IP of the season, dating back to June 24. Cecil registered 41 strikeouts (12.16 K/9) over that stretch. He has held opposing hitters to a .120 average over that time. Cecil has his 26.0 IP scoreless streak snapped on 9/20. The streak was the longest by an American League reliever this season and was the second longest streak in club history.
Toronto begins play in the ALDS against the Texas Rangers on Thursday at 3:37 p.m. on FS1.

Justin Maxwell, OF, San Francisco Giants
Stats: .209/.275/.341, 26 R, 26 RBIs, 7 HR.
Highlights: Maxwell's Giants 84-78, eight games behind the Dodgers in the NL West division race.
Double-A
Jimmy Reed, LHP, Springfield Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals)
Stats: 6-8, 4.10 ERA, 3 CG, 145.0 IP, 97 SO, 24 BB.
Highlights: Reed finished with six wins in a season that saw him get promoted to Triple A Memphis at one point during the season.
Adam Kolarek, LHP, Binghamton Mets (New York Mets)
Stats: 2-1, 4.07 ERA, 55.1 IP, 51 SO, 23 BB, 1 SV.
Highlights: Binghamton was eliminated in the Eastern League playoffs by Reading.
Single-A
Jake Stinnett, RHP, South Bend Cubs (Full-Season, Chicago Cubs)
Stats: 7-6, 4.46 ERA, 117.0 IP, 91 SO,
Highlights: Stinnett played the entire season for South Bend and came on with two wins in his final two starts. He notched a 3.86 ERA during the second half of the season.
Zach Morris, LHP, Lakewood BlueClaws (Philadelphia Phillies)
Stats: 5-1, 2.15 ERA, 29.1 IP, 27 K.
Highlights: Morris was promoted to A-Ball after the end of the Golf Coast League season and registered a 2.08 ERA and a save over three apperances with the club.

Kevin Mooney, RHP, Auburn Doubledays (Short-Season, Washington Nationals)
Stats: 1-0, 5.40 ERA, 21.2 IP, 15 K.
Highlights: Mooney picked up his first professional win in his second to last outing of the season.
Blake Schmit, SS, GCL Twins (Minnesota Twins)
Stats: .240/.336/.339, 14 R, 18 RBIs, 4 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR. (Three Teams)
Highlights: Schmit ended an injury riddled season back with the Fort Myers Miracle, where he began the year.
LaMonte Wade, Outfielder, Cedar Rapids Kernels (Minnesota Twins)
Stats: .302/.418/.486, 37 R, 45 RBIs, 8 2B, 5 3B, 9 HR, 46 BB, 12 SB
Highlights: Wade earned a promotion to Cedar Rapids after a spectacular season with the Elizabethton Twins. The Owings Mills native helped the Kernels come just one win away from capturing the MWL Championship. He was named the 17th-best prospect in the Appalachian League by Baseball America.

Rookie League
Kevin Martir, Catcher, Greeneville Astros (Houston Astros)
Stats: .218/.355/.234, 10 R, 16 RBIs, 2 2B, 23 BB.
Highlights: Martir's Astros captured the Appalachian League championship
Jose Cuas, 3B, Helena Brewers (Milwaukee Brewers)
Stats: .260/.319/.430, 41 R, 40 RBIs, 19 2B, 7 HR, 6 SB
Highlights: Cuas ended the season on a 14-game hitting streak and swatted seven home runs in his first minor league season.
Alex Robinson, LHP, Elizabethton Twins (Minnesota Twins)
Stats: 0-3, 9.00 ERA, 12.0 IP, 15 K.
Highlights: Robinson ended his first minor league campaign with 15 strikeouts.
Jake Drossner, LHP, Helena Brewers (Milwaukee Brewers)
Stats: 4-3, 3.64 ERA, 47.0 IP, 46 K
Highlights: Drossner finished the season with four wins and did not give up a run in four of his last five appearances.
