COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Junior Shatori Walker-Kimbrough and senior Brene Moseley each notched career milestones as the No. 5 Maryland women's basketball team defeated Southern, 94-61, Friday evening in the XFINITY Center.

Walker-Kimbrough tallied 20 points versus the Jaguars, becoming the 30th player in Maryland history to reach the 1,000-career points milestone. She currently has 1,006 in her career. Moseley reached the 300-career assist mark with 10 in Friday's game. She is the 18th Terp to reach the mark and currently has 302 in her career.

Brionna Jones had 16 points and 10 rebounds for Maryland (10-0) and Moseley also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists. It was the Terrapins' 28th consecutive win at home.

Six Terps, led by Walker-Kimbrough, scored in double digits as Maryland used a balanced attack and shot 54 percent against the Jaguars.

Walker-Kimbrough hit the 1,000-point mark with 3:24 left in the second quarter. Cutting from the right side, she took a pass from Moseley and made an easy layup.

The basket gave the Terrapins a 41-22 lead. The margin would swell to 21 at halftime, and a layup by Walker-Kimbrough made it 63-37 midway through the third quarter.

At halftime, the Terrapins held a 28-12 rebounding advantage and were 5 for 9 from beyond the arc.

Maryland stretched its lead to 31 points late in the third quarter and took a 74-44 lead into the final 10 minutes.

Brionna Jones is closing in on 1,000 career points and has 846.

The Terrapins are second in the country in scoring margin (+38.3), field goal percentage defense (.302) and rebounding margin (+20.4). Jones is second in the country in field goal percentage (.686), Moseley is No. 11 (.616) and Walker-Kimbrough is No. 23 (.585). Walker-Kimbrough is ranked among the Big Ten's best in every category - offensive and defensive.

After the exam week, the Terrapins will play at Maryland-Eastern Shore on Sunday, Dec. 20. The Terps-Hawks game will be streamed live online through YouTube and live stats will be available.
