
GymTerps Return Home For Annual Pink Meet

COLLEGE PARK, Md.—The Maryland gymnastics team returns to the XFINITY Center, Friday at 7 p.m. for the annual breast cancer awareness 'Pink Meet'. The Terps will face-off against local foes, George Washington, Towson and William & Mary.
The team will debut special pink leotards, and will sponsor a silent auction featuring exclusive Maryland gymnastics apparel during the meet. All proceeds raised will go to benefit breast cancer research and the Baltimore City Cancer Program.

Last Time Out
- The Terrapins, who sit at 4-5 on the season and 2-3 in the Big Ten, look to maintain momentum after posting a season-high team total of 195.375 in a quad-meet at Rutgers with Cornell and Ursinus.
- Maryland (195.375) took first, while Rutgers (194.400), Cornell (192.225) and Ursinus (189.650) placed second, third and fourth respectively.
- The GymTerps won the individual title on vault, bars and beam. Katy Dodds (9.875) took the crown on vault. Karen Tang (9.850) took the title on bars, and Stephanie Giameo (9.850) placed first on beam.
- In the past five meets, vs. Minnesota (194.325), at Penn State (194.450), at Iowa (195.275), vs. Michigan (194.575) and at Rutgers (195.375), the team has totaled a score above 194.000 and has surpassed the 195.00 plateau twice.
Scouting the Colonials
- Last time out, George Washington fell to NC State and William & Mary in Raleigh, N.C. after posting a team total of 194.125.
- The Colonials last faced the Terrapins in the first meet of the 2015 season. George Washington recorded a score of 194.325 to take home first in a tri-meet that included West Virginia.
- Friday's meeting marks the 92nd regular season meeting between the two teams. Maryland currently holds a 55-35 all-time series advantage.
Scouting the Tribe
- Last time out, the Tribe fell to N.C. State, but triumphed George Washington in Raleigh, N.C. after posting a team total of 194.350.
- Maggie Lundeen was selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference Specialist of the Week.
- William & Mary last faced Maryland in the 2014 season. Maryland came away victorious, 194.775-193.400.
Scouting the Tigers
- Last time out, Towson defeat UPenn by the score of 195.175-193.775. The Tigers posted its highest team total since 2012.
- Towson is now 7-6 on the season and currently have a two-meet win streak.
- Towson last faced-off against the Terrapins in the 2014 season. Maryland came away with the 195.225-188.700 victory.
Terps set attendance record
- Maryland gymnastics set a new attendance record of 2,207 fans in the Feb. 7 meet against #5 Michigan. The meet represented the annual PRIDE meet.
- Prior to the meet against Michigan, the GymTerps had previously set a new attendance record of 2,091 in the inaugural 'Beauty and the Beast' event on Jan. 9.
Nationally Ranked on vault and floor
- The GymTerps also currently ranks 20th nationally and fifth in the Big Ten on vault. The team recorded a season-high team score of 49.150 vs. Iowa (1/30).
- Maryland currently ranks tied for 24th in the nation on floor. The team tallied a season-high team score of 49.100 vs. GW and WVU (1/8). The Terps have broken the 49.000 mark two out of six meets this season.
Beam Me Up, Stephy
- Senior Stephanie Giameo currently ranks 19th nationally and sixth in the Big Ten on beam. Giameo added a 9.850 on beam in the anchor position against Iowa (1/30).
Looking Ahead
- The Terps have a quick turnaround as they travel to Morgantown, W.Va. to take on West Virginia, New Hampshire and Rutgers on Sunday at 2 p.m.
