
GymTerps Welcome #5 Michigan For Annual PRIDE Meet

COLLEGE PARK, Md.—The Maryland gymnastics team returns home Saturday evening to face off with conference opponent, #5 Michigan. Returning to the XFINITY Center for the first time in a little under a month, the GymTerps (1-4, 1-2 B1G) will look to get back to the win column after posting a season-high team total in a 195.275-195.725 falter at conference opponent Iowa last weekend.
In every meet so far this season, the Terrapins have increased their total team score from the meet prior. The past three meets, vs. Minnesota (194.325), at Penn State (194.450) and at Iowa (195.275), the team has totaled a score above 194.000, surpassing the 195.000 plateau in 2015 against Iowa.
Against the Hawkeyes, Maryland posted season-high team scores on vault (49.150) and beam (48.800), while freshman Abbie Epperson took the individual title on bars (9.900) and shared the individual crown on vault (9.850) with seniors Shannon Skochko and Katy Dodds.
Saturday's meet marks the annual Maryland PRIDE meet as well as fan appreciation night. The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a commemorative 'B1G' wristband. Maryland will also host a post-meet autograph session.

Scouting the Wolverines
· Last time out, the Wolverines defeated #7 Nebraska 197.300-195.875 to move to 5-0 on the season and 3-0 in the Big Ten.
· Nicole Artz was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week and Brianna Brown was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
· Michigan is the defending Big Ten Regular Season Champions and is set to host the 2015 Big Ten Championships on March 21.
Maryland vs. Michigan
· Saturday's dual marks the ninth meeting between the Terps and Wolverines. Michigan holds a 7-1 series advantage.
· Maryland and Michigan last faced off on January 29, 2011 when Maryland visited Ann Arbor for a quad-meet with Michigan, Chicago, and Kent State. Michigan edged the Terps 195.875-193.800.
· Saturday's matchup marks the first as conference foes.
Epperson tabbed as Big Ten Specialist of the Week
· Abbie Epperson was named Big Ten Event Specialist of the Week following a career performance against Iowa. The freshman set a career-high on bars (9.900) and vault (9.850)
· Her bars score marks the 10th best score in program history. The award marks Maryland's first conference honor as a member of the Big Ten.
Beam me up, Stephy
· Senior Stephanie Giameo currently ranks tied for 16th nationally and tied for third in the Big Ten on beam. Giameo added a 9.850 on beam in the anchor position against Iowa.
GYMTERPS NATIONALLY RANKED ON VAULT AND FLOOR
· The GymTerps also currently rank tied for 18th nationally and fourth in the Big Ten on vault. The team recorded a season-high team score of 49.150 vs. Iowa (1/30).
· Maryland currently ranks 23rd in the nation on floor. The team tallied a season-high team score of 49.100 vs. GW and WVU (1/8). The Terps have broken the 49.000 mark two out of four meets this season.
