COLLEGE PARK, Md.— The Maryland gymnastics team looks to keep its momentum as they travel to Lincoln, Nebraska for the B1G Five meet, Saturday at 1 p.m. ET. The Terps will face #9 Nebraska, #13 Illinois, #25 Michigan State and Ohio State in the Big Ten championship qualifying meet.
The top three finishers in the meet will earn a spot in the evening session of the Big Ten championships next week. The other two teams will compete in the morning session.
Maryland has won its last eight straight meets and 13 of its last 14. The Terps currently sit at 29th in the nation and eighth in the Big Ten.

Last time out
- In the final home meet of the season, the GymTerps posted a season-high team total (196.000) in a quad-meet victory over William & Mary, Bridgeport and Southern Conn.
- The team excelled on bars (49.250) and floor (49.125). Both team scores represent new season-highs, while the bars score is the fifth-highest in program history and the highest bars score under Brett Nelligan's tenure.
- Maryland took the individual title on bars, beam and floor. Kathy Tang racked the crown on bars (9.875). Stephanie Giameo won the title on beam (9.850), while Ebony Walters won floor (9.950).
- With the three victories, the Terps moved to 14-5-1 on the season and 2-3 in the Big Ten.
The Opponents
- Nebraska currently ranks ninth in the nation, with a 12-2 overall record and 4-1 in Big Ten competition. The Huskers are led by Dan Kendig in his 22nd season.
- Illinois is currently 13th nationally and sits at 9-1 overall and 4-1 in Big Ten competition. The Illini are led by Kim Landrus who is in her fourth season.
- Michigan State sits at 25th in the nation, and boasts a 10-4 overall record and 3-4 Big Ten record. The Spartans are coached by Kathie Klages, in her 25th season at the helm.
- Ohio State sits just outside the national rankings with a 7-5 record and 2-3 showing in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes are headed by Carey Fagan, in her 10th season as head coach.
Walters Wows On Floor
- In front of many family and friends Ebony Walters gave the performance of a lifetime, tallying a 9.950 on floor last meet.
- The score pushed Maryland over the 196.000 mark for the first time since 2013 and marks the sixth-best score in program history.
Vaulting to the top
- Maryland currently ranks 20th nationally and fifth in the Big Ten on vault. The team recorded a season-high score of 49.150 vs. Iowa (1/30) and at TWU (3/1).
- The team has not recorded a team score lower than 48.850 this season, and has eclipsed the 49.000 mark five times thus far.
Mr. 100
- With the GymTerps two victories over Texas Woman's University and Brown (3/1), head coach Brett Nelligan reached 100 career wins at the help of the Terps. Nelligan has led the team to the NCAA regionals every season as head coach.

- After the Big Five meet, Maryland will travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan for the Big Ten Championships. The championships will be split in two sessions and will be broadcasted on the Big Ten Network on March 21st.
