ROSEMONT, Ill. – Senior Stephanie Giameo and senior Karen Tang were named to the All-Big Ten Second Team by the conference office Tuesday morning. The honors mark the first All-Big Ten recognition for the Terps as members of the Big Ten conference.
First Team honors were awarded to Big Ten gymnasts that finished with a top five Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) in the conference on any of the four apparatuses. Second Team honors were awarded to competitors who tallied a RQS that ranked fifth through tenth in the conference on any of the four apparatuses.
Giameo currently ranks ninth in the Big Ten and tied for 41st nationally on beam. She holds a 9.860 RQS on the event and tallied a season-high 9.900 at Texas Woman's University (3/1). The Roselle Park, N.J. native has recorded a score of 9.800 or above on the apparatus in all 11 meets this season.
