COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Sophomore defender Tim Muller has been named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after helping the No. 3 Maryland men's lacrosse team (11-1, 3-0 B1G) to a pair of victories this week over No. 19 Loyola and Rutgers.
A Maryland player has captured Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors eight out of nine weeks this season.
Muller had an excellent week for the Terrapins, scooping five ground balls in the two wins. Muller did a nice job filling in for the previously injured Matt Dunn against Loyola, before totaling a career-high four ground balls at Rutgers.
The 3rd-ranked Terps next travel to No. 11 Ohio State Saturday at 11 a.m. in Columbus, Ohio.
