• The Terrapins fell to Liberty 7-6 in its final home game of the season Tuesday.
• The Terrapins scored 39 runs on 50 hits to notch a series victory over Ohio State this weekend. With a 14-10 win Sunday, the Terps broke the school record for single season wins with 35.
• Maryland and Northwestern will contest their first ever series this weekend.
• Sophomore right-handed pitcher Mike Shawaryn has accepted an invitation to join the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team and will be a part of a 24-player squad that will embark on a two-month tour comprised of at least 17 games in June and July.
• Shawaryn was also named to the 30-player USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award watch list.
• Shawaryn's 22 career wins are the most for any sophomore in the country. Shawaryn's 21st win against Purdue on April 24 broke the Maryland all-time career record previously held by John Rayne (1989-92).
• Shawaryn was named to the 30-player USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award watch list Thursday.
• Shawaryn is tied for tops in the nation with 11 wins. His 1.71 ERA is third in the conference and 21st in the nation. He is eighth in the country and tops in the Big Ten with 108 strikeouts.
• Maryland's pitching staff has been mowing opposing batters down all season. The Terps lead the Big Ten with 451 strikeouts on the season, including 150 struck out looking, also a conference high.
• Second baseman Brandon Lowe has been one of the most dangerous hitters in the Big Ten this season. Lowe leads the conference in OBP (.459), and is second in slugging (.606) and RBIs (49). Lowe is third in walks (33) and home runs (9).
• Catcher Kevin Martir has been outstanding at the plate this season. The junior is top-10 in the conference in average (.344), slugging (.528), on base (.442) and RBIs (41).
• Kevin Mooney notched his fifth save of the season against Delaware to move his all-time Maryland career saves record to 27. The record was previously held by Brett Cecil. Mooney broke the record with a save against Minnesota on March 21.
