
Five Terrapins Playing in the WNBA This Summer

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Five former Maryland women's basketball players are playing in the WNBA this summer. Marissa Coleman, Lynetta Kizer, Crystal Langhorne, Alyssa Thomas and Kristi Toliver are competing with their teams throughout the summer.
Coleman and Kizer are currently with the Indiana Fever. Coleman has started in 38 of 40 games with the Fever since signing with the squad before last season. She is second on the team in scoring with 14.2 points per game so far this year.
Kizer came to the Fever last season as well. She's averaging 14.8 minutes per game and 7.3 points off the bench. The Fever will travel to Washington D.C. to take on the Mystics on Friday, July 17, Tuesday, Aug. 11 and Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Langhorne is in her second season with the Seattle Storm and eighth year overall in the league. She has started in all 39 games for the Storm and is averaging 10.0 points and 6.6 rebounds per game this year. Langhorne and the Storm will visit the Mystics in Washington D.C. o Wednesday, July 29.
Thomas is in her second season in the league and with the Connecticut Sun. After being named to last year's WNBA All-Rookie Team, Thomas is off to another strong start. She has started in 33 of 39 career games and is averaging 10.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Thomas and the Sun will visit the Mystics on Sunday, July 19 and Sunday, Aug. 9.
Currently with the Slovak Republic National Team, Toliver is in her seventh season in the league and sixth with the Los Angeles Sparks. Toliver is playing with the Slovak Republic in the EuroBasket Championships in Hungary through the end of June, then will join the Sparks. For more on the EuroBasket Championships, click here.
Toliver averages 12.0 points per game for her career and is a career 40.4 percent three-point shooter in the league.
