
Likely Earns Paul Hornung Honor

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Maryland defensive back William Likely was named to the Paul Hornung Award National Weekly Honor roll after his performance in Maryland's 35-17 win over South Florida Saturday afternoon.
Likely nabbed four tackles, including one for loss, and a PBU in the victory. Likely also padded his already stellar return numbers with 35 all-purpose yards. He leads the country in punt return TDs (2) and combined kick return yards (424), and is second overall in punt return average (28.1).
The Paul Hornung Award, presented by Texas Roadhouse, is awarded annually to the most versatile player in major college football. Likely is joined by Jakeen Grant (Texas Tech), Ryan Switzer (North Carolina) and Christian McCaffrey (Stanford) on the honor roll.
Likely and the Terps return to action when they travel to West Virginia Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 3 p.m. The game can be seen live on Fox Sports 1.
