Harris Named Big Ten Golfer of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Senior Tom Harris of the Maryland men's golf team was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week Wednesday, after he won the Janney VCU Shootout Tuesday. Harris won the two-day event at The Country Club of Virginia for the first individual title of his career.
Harris finished 10 under par in the 54-hole event to seal the win. Harris shot a career-best six-under par 66 in the first round Monday, then added a 69 in the second round. He shot a 71 in the third round to finish with a combined score of 206 (66-69-71).
He is the second Terrapin to win the Janney VCU Shootout, after Sean Bosdosh won in 2012.
Next, the Terrapins will compete in the Firestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio on Oct. 5.
