Solomon Eye Terp of the Week: Micha Powell

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Each week during the 2015-16 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week. This week's Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week is Micha Powell of track and field.

Powell had a sensational performance in the Terrapins' opening meet of the season at the Penn State Relays. Powell notched a two-second victory in the 500m with a Maryland record time of 1:12.46.

The junior from Toronto returned to the track to anchor the Terps' 4x400 team that won the event in 3:43.57, the fifth-best time in Maryland history. Juniors Taylor Tucker and Lisa Meneau, along with freshman Thaila Cooper made up the rest of the team.

Maryland returns to action at the Albany Invitational on Saturday with action scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
