SWK Named to USBWA Midseason List

ST. LOUIS – Junior Shatori Walker-Kimbrough of the fifth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (17-2, 6-1 B1G) is one of 16 of the top players in the country named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association's Ann Meyers Dreysdale Midseason Watch List.

The Ann Meyers Drysdale award honors the Women's National Player of the Year and will be presented at the College Basketball Awards gala in Oklahoma City on April 11.

The USBWA, comprised of nearly 1,000 sports journalists covering college basketball for newspapers, magazines and websites, will select the recipients of the awards. This will be the first time the Women's Player of the Year will be featured at the gala.

Walker-Kimbrough currently leads the nation in three-point field goal percentage (59.4). Last week, she went a career-best 6-for-6 from outside the arc vs. Wisconsin. She is averaging 17.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 2.2 steals per game for the Terrapins. The junior is shooting 55.0 percent from the field on the year as well.

Ohio State's Kelsey Mitchell and Minnesota's Rachel Banham are the Big Ten's other honorees on the list. Click here for the full Midseason Watch List.

The Terrapins will travel to Penn State (8-11, 3-5) this week for a midweek matchup Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Bryce Jordan Center.

The Terps-Lady Lions game will be streamed online through BTN Plus and the BTN2Go app. Fans will need a BTN Plus subscription to watch.

Live stats will be available and updates will be posted to the Maryland women's basketball Twitter feed here.

After Wednesday's matchup, the Terrapins will return home to host Indiana (12-8, 4-4) Saturday at 2 p.m. at the XFINITY Center.

The Terrapins will be giving away the Brene Moseley bobblehead at the Indiana game. For the giveaways, fans will receive a scratch-off ticket when they enter XFINITY Center and 500 lucky fans will win a bobblehead. Non-winning tickets will include a merchandise discount at the Terrapin Team Shop. Fans with winning scratch off tickets can redeem their ticket for a bobble head in the XFINITY Center Pavilion, located on the ground floor, following the conclusion of the game. The Terrapins will announce the date for the Chloe Pavlech bobblehead at another date. The Malina Howard bobblehead will be released on Feb. 28 vs. Minnesota.

Terrapin Club Scholarship Fund members can claim a complimentary general admission ticket for themselves and up to three guests for Saturday's game.

In honor of National Girls & Women in Sport Day on Feb. 3, Maryland's women's sports teams will host a free youth clinic in the XFINITY Center Pavilion before the game. Participants will receive free admission to the game and their families can purchase discounted tickets.
