COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland football sophomore Ty Johnson has been named the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week.
Johnson helped Maryland rout Purdue by rushing for a career-high 204 yards on seven carries (29.1 yards/c) and two touchdowns. It was the most rushing yards for a Maryland running back since Brandon Ross totaled 245 rushing yards against Indiana on Nov. 21, 2015.
Johnson had over half of Maryland's impressive 400-yard rushing outburst as the Terps handled Purdue, 50-7, to move to 4-0 under first-year Head Coach DJ Durkin.
Johnson was also named Honorable Mention National Performer of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards and the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week.
Johnson and the Terps return to action on Saturday at Penn State. The game can be seen live on the Big Ten Network at noon.
